Anthony Mavrofrides is a current JetBlue Airways First Officer on the Airbus 320/321 aircraft in New York and the founder of the VetAways Foundation, Inc. He has more than 17 years of aviation experience in the private, corporate, and commercial aviation industry as well as being a part of the Civil Air Patrol at one time. His leadership experience includes both aviation and business oriented roles including developing flight training courses for students, being a mentor and teacher for a career guided pathway to the industry for both private and commercial aviation goals, a real estate investor, as well as being a previous Vice President for A & J Document Shredding, Inc. in Orlando, FL. He holds his Gold Seal FAA flight instructor ratings for both single and multi-engine airplane and instrument, as well as his advanced ground instructor and instrument ground instructor ratings. Anthony’s roles have kept him active in local communities supporting and volunteering his time to other charities which include Habitat for Humanity and the American Red Cross. His family includes law enforcement and military experience, which instilled a passion for America and the ones whom served. Anthony holds degrees in B.S. in Professional Aeronautics with minors in Management and Airport Management; A.A. in General Studies; Technical Certificate in Business Specialist.
David Carrazana is a Real Estate Investor and Commercial Property Manager as well as the co-founder of the VetAways Foundation, Inc. He has over 24 years of Construction Management and Land Development expertise. In the past, he has served with the Home Builders Association (Central Florida) for over 7 years and has a record of public service within the City of Orlando, where he has also served on several boards. His experience in business and civil service has enabled him to work closely with law enforcement and first responders throughout his career. His patriotism and love of country were instilled at an early age by his immigrant parents that worked hard to assimilate and take part in the freedom and opportunities that only this country provides. Today, David focuses on using his business acumen and leadership to honor the many U.S. Veterans that have given so much for our country. Throughout his career, he has always been a strong believer in the practice of supporting and hiring military veterans. His family includes active and retired military and law enforcement members. David holds several degrees including a B.S. degree in Business along with minors in Business Management, English and Bible. He has had training in Emergency Preparedness and has attended numerous business and real estate related seminars. Throughout his ongoing outreach with several homeless charities, he has recognized the urgent need to address the growing number of veterans that are homeless, jobless and battling depression.
Thomas Artesi is currently a marketing development manager for a solution software company in Orlando, FL. He has more than a decade of experience in sales and training which he brings to the VetAways Foundation, Inc. as the Director of Marketing. Thomas brings valuable knowledge with the expertise of hosting events for a local I.T. managed services provider transferring those gained skills over to VetAways. He has been a firm supporter of charitable foundations throughout his lifetime, donating for various causes and missions. His passion and patriotism for America is inspired by the military experience within his family. Thomas holds degrees in B.A. in Liberal Arts with emphasis in business, communications, and psychology; A.A. in Communications.
Bob Raskey is a current United Airlines Captain on the B-737 at Newark and also on the Board of Directors of the United Airlines “We Care-Employee Assistance Fund”. He has more than thirty years of experience in commercial and military flight operations. A retired USAF Lt Col he has flown over 20 years in the military to include combat flight operations in Desert Shield/Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. His leadership experience includes developing flight training, career pathways and mentoring programs for commercial and military aviation. He has been a flight instructor and evaluator on aircraft ranging from single engine civil aircraft to the B-747-400. Bob is a supporting member and founder of several charitable foundations to include; “The Aviation Bright Futures Foundation”; “Vision of Flight”; “The Bahama Village Music Program”; “The Orlando Aviation Youth Center”. He serves in various leadership roles as a member of AABI (Aviation Accreditation Board International); UAA (University Aviation Alliance); AOPA (Airplane Owners and Pilots Association) and the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association). Bob is a former member of the Board of Trustees of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and his steering committee led Embry Riddle through a very challenging aviation environment in education and future career pathways. Bob holds degrees in M.B.A; M.A. in International Relations; B.S in Aeronautical Science and an A.S. in Computer Science.
Adrian Bang is currently a Nurse Practitioner at Duke University Hospital in the Triangle Area (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill) of North Carolina. He works with the inpatient Trauma team, seeing, diagnosing, treating, and performing minor procedures on patients of motor vehicle collisions, gunshot wounds, assaults, stabbings, falls, and other injuries sustained related to recreational and everyday activities. His specialty is with adults and geriatrics. Before Adrian became a nurse practitioner, he worked as a registered nurse in the Surgical ICU and its Stepdown Unit for over 6 years. He worked with a vast population of patients, including vascular, abdominal transplant, gastrointestinal, orthopedics, plastic surgery, and trauma. During this period, he spent a lot of time caring for veterans and active-duty members of the U.S. military from all branches, including those of the Durham VA Medical Center. His family, friends, and colleagues include active and retired U.S. Air Force, Army, Marine Corp, and Navy. Both have imparted an admiration for and desire to give back to the numerous veterans that sacrificed their minds, selves, family, and more. Adrian’s goal for VetAways is to extend its reaches and give veterans across the continental U.S. an opportunity to be thanked. Adrian holds degrees in M.S. in Nursing with a focus in adults/geriatrics; B.S. in Nursing; A.A. in General Studies with minor in Public Health.
